The Johns Hopkins University’s Evergreen Museum & Library possesses a remarkable collection late 19th- and early 20th-century art glass objects. The museum’s current exhibition Art Glass at Evergreen (on view through April 17, 2022) highlights a selection of these objects, showcasing a range of styles, forms, and makers and giving visitors the chance to consider the art glass movement within a compelling social and economic context. In this special lecture and Q&A, Michelle Fitzgerald, Curator of Collections at Evergreen, offers insight into three key pieces from the exhibition, including an iconic favrile lamp by Louis Comfort Tiffany’s and Egyptian Revival forms sold by New Jersey’s Durand Glass.
