Join internationally acclaimed trumpeter and the Richard and Elizabeth Case Chair of the Jazz Department at the Peabody Institute, Sean Jones, as he takes you on a journey through jazz – then and now. Using his personal collection of vinyl, Sean will share his favorite recordings representative of different styles and the cultural origins of jazz music. During this informal listening tour, Sean will guide you through several pieces of music during which he’ll help you listen for and understand the melody, harmony, and nuances that make jazz so unique.
