Please join Senator Pam Beidle (District 32) and Ed Kumian (CEO of Priority Partners; Executive Leader of Johns Hopkins HealthCare) to hear about how Johns Hopkins Health Care's Managed Care Organization, Priority Partners, comprehensively cares for the Medicaid population across the State and is partnering with MDH to help Marylanders with the end of the Federal Public Health Emergency.
Senator Pam Beidle began her service as the Senator representing District 32, Anne Arundel County in 2019. She currently serves on the Finance Committee and is the Chair of the Executive Nominations Committee. Senator Beidle began her service on the County Council from 1998 to 2006, and in the House of Delegates from 2006 until being elected to the Senate in 2019. In the House, she was a member of the Environment and Transportation Committee where she chaired the Motor Vehicle and Transportation Policy sub-committee. She also served on the Joint Audit Committee and the Maryland Tourism Development Council. She graduated from Anne Arundel Community College with an Associate Degree and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Towson University.
Ed Kumian has the responsibility for oversight of over 290,000 Medicaid members across all counties within Maryland. While Mr. Kumian has been with Johns Hopkins HealthCare primarily in the capacity as CFO of Priority Partners for 15 years, he has recently been promoted to the role of CEO. In the capacity as CEO, Mr. Kumian has led the organization through a strategic planning process and helped start the Maryland Medicaid Managed Care Association which pulls together all eight of the Maryland Medicaid MCOs for purposes of working with the Maryland Department of Health on rate and operational issues.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins Health Care, Mr. Kumian worked as a consultant with KPMG and PwC where he provided consulting services to Priority Partners and helped set up its original provider contracts. Mr. Kumian received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Delaware.
