Session 1: Preserving Integrity in Turbulent Times
Preserving Integrity in Turbulent Times • 34m
Moral adversity is arising in all areas of our lives. Many people are struggling to understand the moral trade-offs that accompany decisions about how to preserve the health of more people at the expense of others. Others are concerned about how decision making about health is changing in response to the scarcity of healthcare resources. Others are struggling with social inequities, racism, or disrespect of individuals or groups, and still others are concerned about the social norms of communication among friends, families, colleagues, and community. Cynda Hylton Rushton PhD, RN, FAAN Professor of Nursing & Pediatrics with the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, in the first of three sessions, explores the sources of moral adversity in our lives and examines how moral distress shows up in our lives.
