Jeffrey Kahn, PhD, MPH - the Andreas C. Dracopoulos Director of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Levi Professor of Bioethics and Public Policy - provides an introduction to the ethics of gene editing. In this first session, Dr. Kahn uses the first case in the world of the creation of a so-called “savior sibling” to help illustrate the ethical and policy issues arising when new combinations of biotechnologies challenge existing limits.
